Workshop on: Online Odyssey: From delivering content to designing interactive teaching and learning

On 18th of May, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of North South University (NSU) along with the IQACs of two other leading universities of Bangladesh namely: Independent International University, Bangladesh (IUB) and United International University (UIU) jointly organized a virtual workshop on “Online Odyssey: From delivering content to designing interactive teaching and learning” at 5:00 o’clock in the evening. Advance HE, UK, a leading global expert in teaching and learning enhancement and leadership development, facilitated the workshop.  Ms. Kathy Wright, Assistant Director of Advance HE, UK, gave a brief presentation on how both the teachers as well as students are responding in this pandemic situation, the current challenges that they are facing, and some tools and techniques that can be used while conducting interactive online teaching and learning. She also conducted some polls and surveys to find out how the instructors are currently engaging their students and what could be done differently to have positive impact regarding the learning experiences.  Towards the end of the workshop, the participants were divided into smaller groups and were asked to discuss some critical issues in the breakout rooms. The online workshop was well attended by a number of core faculty members of NSU, IUB and UIU. The session was highly interactive and lively benefiting all the participants. It is to be mentioned that Advance HE, UK conducted this taster session in Bangladesh for the very first time.
